What is collagen injection therapy?

Collagen is a protein and the primary component of connective tissue. Together with elastin, it forms the structural support system of the skin. Collagen injection therapy (commercially known as Nithya collagen) is an aesthetic procedure that involves injecting type I collagen—derived from horse tendon—beneath the skin. Equine collagen is considered the safest form of animal-derived collagen and is regarded as the “gold standard” in collagen therapy. This treatment can be applied to the face, neck, décolleté, hands, and body areas such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, knees, and upper arms.
